Off the eastern half of the Gibb River Road, stands the Mount Elizabeth Station, a working Kimberley cattle station that is open to tourists as well.
And it is no exaggeration to say it’s a working cattle station; it’s a REAL working cattle station, far bigger and more boisterous than an ordinary tourist resort which still runs some cattle in the background.
This really makes Mt. Elizabeth inimitable. (Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the holiday resort feel…)
Do you ever want to see what a live cattle station looks like, then Mt. Elizabeth – the true heart of Kimberly – is the best place along the Gibb River Road to visit.
The ranch was leased to Frank Lacey in 1945, and ever since, the Lacey family has maintained a consistent management of the property. Where else would you get the opportunity to dine with some true Kimberley pioneers?
